Software Instructins Nominclature and Assumptions

I will provide instuctions such as "sudo nano /etc/hosts"

  • I assume you'll know to press enter after this command.

I will then tell you what to add and/or change.

I will then assume that you know how to commmit those changes.
  - "ctrl-x" to exit the editor
  - "Y" to indicate you want to save your changes.
  - "Enter" to save, replacing the existing copy of the file.

You will also make some name choices that are repeated throught the instuctions. and I will represent these choices in my instructions as:
  - The simple name of the Raspberry Host as <<RaspberryName>>

So, my instuctions may say enter "somtehing <<RaspberryName>> something more", if your Raspberry host name is "k7xyz", then you should replace the test <<RaspberryName>> with "k7xyz" and enter "something k7xyx something more"

I will use the fillowing text substitiuons. They are:

  • <<RaspberryName>> which will be the simple host name of the raspberry.
  • <<MeshNodeName>> which will be the Name of the radio that the raspberry is connected to.
  • <MeshNode_IP>> which will be the IP address of the radio that the raspberry is connected to.
